Studies in Early Modern and Contemporary European History (SEMC)

Studies in Early Modern and Contemporary European History is a series published under the auspices of the Italian-German Historical Institute of the Fondazione Bruno Kessler in Trento. It features both the results of the Institute’s research projects and monographs or collections of essays by scholars engaged in key areas of historical inquiry.

The series explores European history with a particular emphasis on German-Italian relations while remaining attuned to the global dimensions of the early modern and contemporary periods. A defining characteristic of the series is its inter-epochal approach, reflecting the Institute’s commitment to bridging historical eras and fostering a deeper understanding of continuity and change.
